Self Portrait 1
First attempt and final breakthrough after months of being artistically idle:
One of my goals this summer was to do self portraits: one involving only words, another using only paint, and one with a combination of the two. I've had a little late start on this since I've been working through many unforeseen transitions of my self. Despite the many frustrations of these transitions, it's been fun learning about myself all over again. We are creatures of constant change and transition, what more can we do but embrace it.

From the Street to the Spotlight -- A Community Art Event
Many thanks to all those who came out and supported!
This was my first art show and I had an amazing time. I met so many beautiful people, sold a few pieces, and learned so much.
The show was a benefit for an orphanage in Haiti called Swamp Kids where admission donations and much of the proceeds from the art went towards.
I'd like to especially thank my friend Nick Macedo for giving me this opportunity to display my work and for being an amazing and inspiring individual. Also, special thanks to my friends Daisy and Cesar Padilla for helping me set up and supporting me throughout the show.
